Gambit Esports, formally known as Gambit Gaming, is a Russian esports organization based in the UK. The organization was created back in 2013, and in 2018 MTS company bought all the rights to own the organization. Although Gambit Esports was founded in 2013, the Dota 2 discipline team was only created in the spring of 2017. After that, the organization began to look for players in the composition. In the late spring of that year, it was decided to sign Thug Life players' mix. And so, the already well-known players like «ALWAYSWANNAFLY» and «chshrct» joined the team.
But the organization was not confident in the team. Therefore it could not do without replacements. When the team was already more or less formed, the team took part in several tournaments. They won first place in four tournaments like ProDotA Cup Europe # 24, ProDotA Cup Europe # 23, Blood in the Streets # 1, ProDotA Cup Europe # 25.
2018 began for the team, also not bad enough. The first and second places on the minor. But after the team could not qualify for The International 2018, the organization was very unsatisfied with the result and decided to dissolve the composition. This was also influenced by the transition of the leading players to other teams. In the same year of 2018, in October, Gambit Esports announced that it was renewing the team. This time the organization signed the team ferzee. Gambit Esports was pleased with its choice, as the team was assembled at the beginning of the season and showed good results. The team included such players as «KingR», «VANSKOR», «Daxak», «Afoninje», «Afterlife». After some time, the composition was changed again. «VANSKOR», «KingR» left the team, and «fng», «Immersion» were invited in their place. Since the team could not play, it was decided to change «Afoninje» to the promising «gpk».
In 2019, the team managed to take first place on WePlay! Dota 2 Valentine Madness, WePlay! Dota 2 Winter Madness and take second place in more serious tournaments like StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 1, ESL One Katowice 2019. In October, the team again changed the composition, and this helped the team to take second place at ESL One Hamburg 2019. And in December, third place at the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore.
2020 began with line-up changes. «Gpk» became a substitute, and «fn» was invited to replace him. But the team could not play, and after a month, «gpk» returned to the main roster. There were significant roster changes in October and November due to the team's poor performance in tournaments. In December 2020, a team with a new roster, namely Anton «yy» Shkredov, Artem «Lorenof» Melnik, Andrey «meLes» Romanov, Danial «XSvamp1Re» Alibaev, and Albert «eine» Garayev, were able to take third place in the EPIC League Division tournament 2.
