The organization was founded back in 2000 in the European country of the Netherlands. But they came to such discipline as DotA 2 only in 2012. In December 2012, the organization announced that it would create a Team Liquid team of DotA 2. Then the organization signed a contract with the North American team compLexity Gaming, which could not show itself at The International 2012. Three players were signed into «Liquid TC,» «ixmike88», and «FLUFFNSTUFF» and two more players switched from other teams, namely «BuLba» from Evil Geniuses and «Korok» who played for Quantic Gaming. So the first team of Team Liquid was formed by DotA 2. The team literally immediately began to win and was considered one of the most powerful teams in the American professional scene.
In 2013, the Team Liquid team in DotA 2 took 11 prize places from 19 tournaments in which I took part, 5 of which were the first. In the same year, at The International 2013 World Cup, the team took a high 7-8th place, showing excellent performance. A relatively young team won against the favorites of the LGD championship. Team Liquid matches were exciting due to the great game «ixmike88» and «FLUFFNSTUFF.» The team's next year was a real test, as the team began to give up their positions. And even though Jimmy «DeMoN» Ho came to the team, Liquid took only 9-10 places at The International 2014. After the team failed the season, the organization decided to dissolve Team Liquid in DotA 2.
On October 9, 2015, Team Liquid announced their return to the professional scene of DotA 2 with the signing of the 5Jungz roster led by KuroKy. The beginning of the season did not work out, but the team managed to take second place at Shanghai Major and Manila Major. And at the World Cup, the team also showed a good result of 7-8th place. The organization was not very happy with the team results but decided not to change the team's composition significantly. Due to this, the players had time to play, and this led to high results. Team Liquid easily wins and takes first places on SL i-League StarSeries Season 3, SL-i League Invitational No. 2, and Epicenter Season 2. After that, Team Liquid received an invitation to the International 2017 Championship without passing the qualifying stages. Since the team was at its best all season and showed promising results, she could not help but win at The International 2017. Team Liquid won the Grand Final over the Newbee team.
The roster that could win Aegis: Kuro «KuroKy» Salehi Tahasomi, Amer «Miracle-» Al Barkavi, Marun «GH» Merhei, Ivan «MinD_ContRoL» Borislavov and Lasse «MATUMBAMAN» Urpalainen.
On June 12, 2019, the organization announced that Lasse «MATUMBAMAN» Urpalainen was leaving the team. Soon he was replaced by middle-line player Omar «w33» Alivi, and «Miracle» moved to his old position. On September 13, 2019, Team Liquid players left the organization.
After that, in October, the organization signs the Alliance team. The ensemble consisted of Michael «miCKe» Vu, Maximilian «qojqva» Bröcker, Samuel «Boxi» Svahn, Tommy «Taiga» Le, and Aydin «iNSaNiA» Sarkohi. The new lineup of the team managed to show not a bad game. The team took high places in tournaments of various sizes, of which it is worth noting 4th place at DOTA Summit 12, 3rd place at WePlay! Pushka League S1: Division 1, fourth in EPIC League Division 1 and first in ESL One Germany 2020 in November 2020.
