Jian «xNova» Wei Yap is a professional e-sports player in the discipline of DotA 2. Born and raised in Malaysia. Date of birth, October 1, 1997. He began his career at age 16.
The first ascent of «xNova» to the professional scene of DotA 2 occurred in 2013. Then he joined the Lowyat E-Sport team. Later that same year, he changed hands when he started playing for Nara Stacks, before moving to China and starting playing for Rattlesnake. A few months later, «xNova» joined the GenySis team but left it in less than six months. The player again decided to join NaraStacks, but it was already called Who2Bet. «xNova» decided to change the position in the team, which gave him the opportunity to become a captain. The team won several local tournaments and was able to take second place in the tournament South East Asia Dota 2 Championship. At the beginning of 2016, the player joined the Mineski-X team and aimed at winning the qualifying stage for the Manila Major 2016 and The International 2016 tournament. But unfortunately, the team won only second places at Manila Major 2016: Southeast Asia Open Qualifier # 2 and The International 2016: Southeast Asia Open Qualifier # 1. In the fall, xNova changed its team again, this time joining WarriorsGaming.Unity. With this team, he first appeared on the international stage at The Boston Major 2016 tournament, where the team won the 5-8th place. «xNova» left WarriorsGaming.Unity after the team did not qualify for The International 2017. After which he decided to join the Clutch Gamers team. In early 2018, LGD Gaming announced that «xNova» would join the team. The team immediately succeeded, qualifying for two DPC tournaments in a row. After which the team won two more tournaments, EPICENTER XL and MDL Changsha Major. After such achievements, the team received an invitation to The International 2018, in which the team took second place.
2019 for the player also went quite well. After winning the qualifications and prizes in tournaments, the team was again invited to The International 2019, where the team successfully took third place. In 2020, the player continued to play for LGD until September. With the team, he managed to take first place in tournaments such as WeSave! Charity Play - China, China Dota2 Professional League Season 1, China Dota2 Professional League Season 2 and ESL One Birmingham 2020 - Online: China. In September, there were significant reshuffles due to which the player moved to the EHOME organization. With the team, he took second place at the CDA-FDC Professional Championship Season 2 and third at such tournaments as China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 2 and OGA Dota PIT S4: China.
