Danil «gpk» Skutin Biography

Danil «gpk» Skutin is a promising young e-sportsman, considered one of the best in his position in the CIS region. He was born on August 23, 2001, in Russia. He began his career at a fairly young age, 16 years old. Danil deliberately chose Dota 2 as an e-sports discipline. He said that he saw more prospects in Dota 2 than Counter-Strike.

2017-2019

The first tournament Danil took part in was ProDotA Cup Europe # 25 in December 2017. Then the young player took fifth place with the Alchemy team. In April 2018, the player took part in the AGON Dota 2 Cup tournament with the Team of Parrots. After which, the Marlerino eSports team signed the player. In the first tournament in the new team, namely Ugra Open 2018, Danil won. But until the end of 2018, the team's game has deteriorated significantly. But this could not be said about the game of Danil. But unfortunately, the player could not win alone in the team game. After minor changes in the team's composition, the players still managed to win the Tricolor TV Tournament in December 2018.

The new 2019 year brought Danil new perspectives, as Vega Squadron signed Marlerino eSports. The team managed to win the Qi Invitational Europe tournament and took third place at the Dom.ru Championship 2019. But unfortunately, this was not enough to get an invitation to The International 2019. Then the team decided to enter the tournament through qualifications. Despite the excellent game and first place at The International 2019: CIS Open Qualifier # 2, in the closed qualifications of The International 2019 CIS Qualifier, the team took only third place. After that, the path to The International 2019 was closed for the team. After the team failed to attend The International, the organization decided to dissolve the team. After which, the player played for various teams, including the Gambit organization until the end of the year. After winning the GG.Bet Hamburg Invitational, Gambit decided to sign the player, but he still played for other teams as a stand-in.

Overwhelming success came to the player during the Gambit game against Alliance at the ESL One Hamburg 2019 tournament. Then Danil did impossible things, and after that, he began to be called the best mid-lane player in the whole CIS. Danil and the team took second place at ESL One Hamburg 2019.

2020

In 2020, there was a slight conflict of interest with the organization, and Danil wanted to leave Virtus.Pro, but could not do it because of the contract. Therefore, at first, Danil was transferred to the reserve team because of this incident but soon returned to the game. In March, the team finished third in the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3 tournament. And already next month, the player and the team took only 13th place at ESL One Los Angeles 2020 - Online: Europe & CIS. Starting in May, the player began to play for various teams in the CIS region on loan. Still, in December, the Gambit organization made some concessions, and Danil managed to leave the organization. In December, «gpk» joined Virtus.Pro and in the same month in the new team, he took first place, first at the CIS qualifier, and then at the EPIC League Division 1 tournament itself, which brought the team $ 200,000 in prize money.
