Johan «N0tail» Sundstein Biography

Johan Sundstein was born in Denmark on October 8, 1993. According to his mother, Vivian, the boy has been obsessed with video games since childhood. The first game he had at two years old was GameBoy, and a year later Johan already started playing games on the computer. This obsession did not allow Johan to graduate as he left school in the first year. He preferred eSports, and he succeeds in it.

«N0tail» Career Start

2013-2016

Johan «N0tail» Sundstein became the youngest esports player to compete in the Heroes of Newerth discipline. In HoN, N0tail chose the role of solo mid-player. But after the player went into the discipline of DotA 2, he decided to change his position. After that, the whole world knew about great support who showed a great game on his signature heroes like Chen and Wisp. Despite his young age, he very quickly began to learn the game and eventually began to help with advice from his team. After which he became the captain of the Fnatic.EU team, for which he played. N0tail has a very interesting career past. “N0tail” has known the player Tal «Fly» Aizik since the age of 15, they were best friends and performed together in the HoN discipline. But now former friends have a very strained relationship. It all started with the ascension of these players to DotA 2. After the players left Fnatic.EU, through a disappointing result at The International 2013, they decided to create a team and named it Team Secret. They invited players like «Puppey», «s4», and «Kuroky» to the team. But that turned out to be a failure for «N0tail». After five «Puppey» tournaments, the team captain decided to change the «N0tail» and invited «Arteezy». «N0tail» decided to move to Cloud9, but after a failure at The International 2015, the squad was disbanded. After that, Johan decided to create a new team with his old friend Tal «Fly» Isaac, who also was kicked out of Team Secret.

The new team was named (monkey) Business. The team showed simply amazing results during the season and received an invitation to The International. The team came to the tournament with a new name, namely OG. At the tournament, the team went through the tournament bracket with a score of 11-3, but something went wrong, there maybe were disagreements in the team, and there may be great moral pressure, but the team failed at the tournament itself. After which the team left «Miracle-», «Cr1t-», «MoonMeander». In their place came «JerAx», «s4» and «ana».

The ascension of «N0tail» to a two-time title champion of The International.

2017-2018

The team, led by Johan «N0tail» Sundstein, wins two more major events, first in Boston, then in Kyiv. But then the team showed a worse result, but this did not stop her from getting an invitation to The International 2017, already the fifth for N0tail. But the team takes only 7-8 place, which is better than before. But for N0tail, it was a failure. After that, «ana» announced that he was taking an annual break in his career, and «Resolut1on» came in his place. But this player could not take root in the team, and N0Tail decides to replace him. The «Resolut1on» place was taken by the «7fuckingMad» team coach, who is now known as «Ceb» or «Ceeeeeeeb» or «Ceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeb».

Then the fun begins. Tal «Fly» Aizik, after three months, decides to leave the team with «s4». He argued that he did not see prospects and there was nothing to lose. This caused a great resonance in the community, as «Fly» and «N0tail» were best friends. They were together with HoN, since the founding of the team, not the first in a row. They still have a record for co-played matches. This decision negatively affected both N0tail and the team as a whole. Since there were only a few months left before The International, and it was still necessary to find new players and play.

After so many setbacks and failures in recent years, N0tail dropped his hands, gathering his thoughts, he began to look for suitable players to replace «Fly» and «s4». At first, Johan found «Tompson», which at that time already had the status of an excellent non-professional player. He also managed to negotiate with «ana», who had not played on a professional level for almost a year. After that, the most interesting, for the victory of his team, «N0tail» was ready for anything. And it was decided that he would play in a different position. No one expected the team to win the tournament, with such replacements. But they could. The main outsiders of the tournament, led by «N0tail», win the grand final of The International. And here it’s even impossible to imagine what path N0tail went to become a winner, with the support of parents after the betrayal of a best friend. «N0tail» proved to everyone that nothing is impossible.

2019-2020

Three players left the OG team in 2019, but n0tail retained his place. And this did not prevent the team, under his leadership, from winning The International 2019, defeating Team Liquid in the final, with 3: 1. In 2020, the team successfully passed all qualifications for the tournaments and took many prize places. There are 2 prize-winning places in the Maincast Winter Brawl, ESL One Los Angeles 2020 - Online: Europe & CIS, OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division, EPIC League Season 2 Division 1, and OGA Dota PIT S4: Europe / CIS.
