Improving one or another skill of your character can often play a decisive role in gaining victory in CS: GO. One of the fundamentally important parameters is the speed of movement.
How a command of increasing speed in CS:GO helps to improve the odds of winning
The start of the round begins with the purchase of weapons, after which there is a move to key positions. At this stage, choosing the right weapon can guarantee the gamer extra time. For example, with a knife, the player’s speed will be higher than with AWP.
The high speed of the character movement allows the player to get to the desired position faster, move better and even provide more opportunities for assessing his opponent’s position. However, the same advantage can be obtained simply by cheating and make your character’s model faster.
How to increase player movement speed in CS:GO using the console
For the speed of movement console command to work correctly in CS:GO, you need to perform the following set of actions:
- – Open developer console. This can be done using the appropriate item in the menu or simply by pressing the «~» key.
- – Enter the required console command, cl_showpos 1. After using it, a rectangle appears at the top right, in which there are four labels. The lowest of them is the indicator that the player needs. This indicator will be with the «vel» sign. Indication changes depending on what weapon the player bought. But grenades and equipment do not affect this.
- – Enter sv_cheats 1. After that, the gamer gets access to the cheats built into the game. They allow you to take advantage of it after entering the appropriate code.
- – Complete the final step. It is the command for the movement speed in CS:GO – host_timescale «#». In quotes, you can write any value from 0.1 to 2. The default option is 1, which means 250 units. With this information, you can both improve your workouts and speed up video recording.
This can be done using the host_timescale «#» command. In the console, you can immediately bind it to the desired key, for example, «x», by entering the following combination: bind x «host_timescale 0.3». After that, the time will slow down immediately after pressing it. The slowdown level can also be changed to your preferred one.
CS:GO has a special command that allows you to see your character’s movement speed on the map. To use it, the developer’s console is first launched (by pressing «~»), and then a command is written to view the speed in the CS GO. So here it is cl_showpos 1. The speed indicator will be next to the «vel» line in the statistics tracking window that opens.
This opportunity is provided only when training on a local server. Thus, this option cannot be found in normal and competitive modes.
