Tonight, Valve released a new update that contains an event and a new Battle Pass.
Community response is mixed. Some were delighted with the new cosmetic items, while others again began to say that Valve was pumping money out of the players. If earlier the Battle Pass release was due to the collection of money for the prize pool of The International, then Valve said that the purchase of a new battle pass does not provide for this.
To begin with, there will be 500 levels in the Battle Pass. The price for 1 level is $ 7.49, for level 50 is $ 26.99, for level 100 is $ 41.99.
For increasing the level of the Battle Pass, the player will receive rewards. Levels can either be purchased or complete tasks in the Battle Pass.

Let’s start with a positive response:
The new Battle Pass has been warmly received by many fans of the game and the community. There are not many levels in it. It is cheaper, the variety of content is good. New items, ridicule, then probably what many were missing.
The negative responses were much more than positive. In principle, this has always been the case, but this time, the community was very much outraged by what was happening.
Let’s start with the fact that insider Wykrhm Reddy reported quite interesting news that many people did not like:
«Oh btw, this is only the first Battle Pass this year. There will be another one later in the year».
If some of the money from the 2020 Battle Pass went to the prize pool of The International, then all the money raised from the new Battle Pass will be the profit of Valve, who already likes to pumping gamers for the money.
Caster Oleg Feaver Skarzhinsky made very correct claims of Valve on his Twitter:
Valve’s DPC system came out bad, to put it mildly. Many organizations, teams have already tried to convey this to Valve more than once, but unsuccessfully, maybe next year everything will change? Will see.
Indeed, nothing is yet known about where The International 10 will be held and what will happen next.
On this occasion, RuHub commentator Alexander Jam Korotkov spoke ironically on his Twitter:
Last year Valve raised $ 40 million with the release of Battle Pass 2020, but there was no tournament, and this year it remains in question.
New content is always awesome, but at what cost. You can say a lot that content is one thing, they say the developers were told – they did it. But the work of other structures of the company, which should be directly responsible for the events, leaves much to be desired.
