Radar in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is usually enabled by default and is displayed at the top right of the display. But if the radar in CS:GO is missing, or you don’t like its usual appearance, questions arise about turning on the minimap in CS:GO and configuring its display.

Console commands for the CS:GO radar
To reactivate the standard CS:GO radar if it disappears, you need to enter the “drawradar” command (without quotes). This command should be entered into the developer console. You can call the console by pressing a tilde (“~”). If the input line does not open, you must first activate the console in the settings. To reverse hide the minimap, use the “hideradar” command.
The following commands are used to fine-tune essential parameters:
- «cl_hud_radar_scale “1”» – determines the size of the CS:GO radar, the minimum value (instead of 1) is 0.8, the maximum is 1.3;
- «cl_radar_scale “1”» – sets the scale of the map on the radar, the minimum value is 0.25, the maximum is 1;
- «cl_radar_rotate “1”» – command is responsible for linking the radar to the camera. If set to 1, it rotates behind the player. If set to 0, it always points north;
- «cl_radar_always_centered “1”» – sets the centering of the map. If 1 is specified, the player is always in the center; if 0, centering is disabled;
- «cl_radar_icon_scale_min “1”» – sets the size of the bomb icon, allies, and other icons, 0.4 is the minimum, 1 is the maximum.
By substituting values from the above numerical ranges instead of one, you can adjust for yourself and make a convenient CS:GO radar.
Standard settings menu
To enable the disappeared CS:GO radar with symbols using standard settings, you need to:
- Open Game Settings
- Find the submenu “Radar settings”.
- Change any of the values.
After that, the map icon will again appear in the corner of the screen. A simple CS:GO radar configuration is available in the specified menu by using the mouse without entering console commands.
Map for setting up a radar in CS:GO
To visually customize the radar and other elements of the CS: GO interface, you can use the “crashz’ Config Generator” configuration location. After downloading it, you need to unpack the contents into the “maps” folder in the game folder, and then run CS: GO and open the map with the “map config generator” command. After that, management of the necessary options is carried out with the help of shots on the screens.
