The new «Return to LAN» protocol from ESL Gaming has been announced. The event is scheduled for November 2021 in the US

Tournament operator ESL Gaming announced the ESL and DreamHack events calendar that will take place in 2021. Most of the events will take place either online or in studios without spectators. The most intriguing news is that ESL One Cologne will be held as a LAN tournament. As a reminder, ESL One Cologne is the largest annual Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament. The creators of the protocol also emphasized that the plan will operate “in anticipation of local rules and regulations” and that the company will follow the “return to the local network” protocol, which was developed in cooperation with players and teams and the goal of which is to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID -19.

The company plans to host a LAN tournament in November in the USA, namely DreamHack Atlanta. This will be the first event from DreamHack with players’ participation since DreamHack Anaheim, which took place already in February 2020.

ESL Gaming did not stop at the largest esports disciplines like CS: GO, and Dota 2 and also organizes Pro Tour tournaments for such disciplines as Warcraft III and StarCraft II.

The company could not ignore League of Legends, for which they want to make a new infrastructure for the ocean region. All this will be done to host the Dota Pro Circuit leagues for the CIS and Europe and a Wild Rift tournament partner in Thailand and Malaysia.
