A streamer, commentator, and analyst, Yaroslav «NS» Kuznetsov, talked a little earlier about the main problems that currently exist in Dota 2 in his opinion. On one of his recent streams, Yaroslav noted that the game’s main problem is boosters, smurfs, and account buyers. Also, Yaroslav found only one correct way to solve this problem. According to him, the method is very radical, but this is the only way to deal with it.
«The system (against boosters) already exists, only it, instead of banning people, on the contrary, encourages them. That is to say, and if the system understands that you are a booster, {…}, then it just starts giving you 200-300 MMR per game. This is to get you out of here faster (current MMR). {…} It became easier for people to boost accounts.
Valve just needs to have big balls to ban all boosters, all smurfs, buyers, and so on. All these accounts, the system actually already detects. Why have big balls? Because this will actually shorten online in the game, and quite significantly. Maybe not half of the players, but 5-10% of the players will be banned, and then people can just drop the game. To afford this (ban so many people), you need an influx of new players. We don’t have new ones, only old ones. If you ask around, then you won’t see new players anywhere. These are all people who have been playing for 15 years.»
Indeed, many will agree that the problem really exists and brings a lot of inconvenience to ordinary players. Valve has been trying to cope with it for a long time, but so far, there are no results.
According to Yaroslav «NS» Kuznetsov, this problem can be solved only by banning all such accounts.
