Sometimes both teammates and rival players can serve as a severe distraction from the game for a player due to their toxicity and just chatter.
Fortunately, CS:GO has an option to mute the voice chat. Moreover, this can be done both selectively – for individual players and the whole rival team or your team. You can mute absolutely every player. Therefore, there are several variants of the mute. Let’s figure out how to mute up a player in CS: GO so as not to hear him.
The simplest but not always the most effective way to mute players is using a scoreboard:
After that, voice and text messages from the selected player will not be broadcast to the user who blocked him.
Although this method is straightforward, it is not always practical. For example, it really interferes when a player is left alone against several enemies at once, and the whole team is yelling and chatting out loud without stopping. Furthermore, it is highly inconvenient to constantly be distracted by the scoreboard in such a situation, muting out teammates one by one.
Using the console command voice_enable 0, you can stir up absolutely everyone. So the gamer completely abstracts away from the rest, minimizing distractions. To turn on the reception of messages again, you need to change the digital value from “0” to “1”.
This method is not suitable for use regularly if the player is serious about raising his own rating in matchmaking. In this case, it is still better to bind the mute / unmute to one of the keys. How to do this?
Many are annoyed when allies chatter endlessly during the clutch, which is sometimes seriously distracting. In this situation, key bind to mute/unmute can help. This can be done using the console command bind “key” “voise_enable 0”. After that, when you press the key, the players’ messages will be automatically blocked. To unmute muted players will be enough to press the key again.
Finally, it is worth noting that the chat mute will not affect the signal from the player himself, who allies will continue to hear.
There is also a special command in the game, making it possible to mute the voices of enemy gamers exclusively. For example, in the developer console, enter command cl_mute_enemy_team 1. After that, opponents will not be able to distract the player with hate or idle chatter.
It is enough to disable voices in options using the voice_enable 0 command.
If the player was muted due to his toxicity, it is impossible to do this independently. You need to ask the admins for unmute.
To unmute everyone, it is enough to register a bind for the following command: bind “key” “voice_enable 1”.
