Dota 2 treasures: what is it, how to get and open them?

Any heroes in the game Dota 2, in addition to abilities, get the opportunity to acquire artifacts. Such items improve the characteristics of the character. Some skills may also become available.

The main ways for players to get new artifacts in Dota 2 are treasures, cases with random items, or buying skins. If, for example, in the game Crusader Kings 2, the treasury is a repository of the player’s artifacts, then in Dota, this concept is a chest from which you can get items.

You can sell/exchange/buy artifacts in Dota 2 on the Steam marketplace or third-party services. In the second case, operations are carried out without commissions, there is the possibility of withdrawing money, but at the same time, there is a risk of facing fraud.

When you open a chest, you will get a list of items from the treasury. Each artifact has two characteristics – rarity and quality. How to get and open Dota 2 chests? Players buy treasures from the Steam store through amulets or receive them as a reward after playing. A special key may be required to open.

Can Dota 2 treasures be transferred? The game allows the transfer of items between accounts and also exchange, purchase, and sale. The dropped artifact is banned from sale – for example, for 1 week or until the end of The International, the largest annual Dota 2 esports tournament held by Valve. But you can give a friend a dropped item right away.

Dota 2 cases can contain both single drop items and sets – sets of artifacts. Each such kit can only be suitable for a specific hero and personalizes him, transforming the appearance and the animation of skills and attacks.

The most profitable treasures are those that contain rare and high-quality items. The rarity levels are as follows:

  1. Common. The cheapest items, the chances of a drop in the game are the highest.
  2. Uncommon.
  3. Rare. The price of such rare items is quite high.
  4. Mythical. Already the highest category.
  5. Legendary. Very expensive. Opening Dota 2 chests with items of this class are the rarest.
  6. Ancient. Items are not dropped. But they can be awarded at tournaments.
  7. Immortal. Do not drop. Very expensive.
  8. Arcana. Most rare, but not too expensive.

In terms of quality, each item from Dota 2 treasure belongs to one of the following groups:

  1. Auspicious.
  2. FroZen.
  3. Cursed.
  4. Inscribed. Items with runes that are creating quality.
  5. Elder. The best treasures of Dota 2 cannot contain such items. They can be received on special occasions.
  6. Heroic. Also issued in special circumstances. They are expensive.
  7. Genuine. The highest standard, obtained as a result of shares.
  8. Autographed. Useless in terms of play, but expensive, as they have an autograph.

The most expensive treasures cannot contain items of the highest quality grades:

  1. Favored. Issued to professionals, could not be purchased but only exchanged.
  2. Ascendant. Special item (Gem). Issued, could not be purchased or exchanged.
  3. Self-Made. Self-made items in the Steam Workshop, as accepted by Valve.
  4. Exalted.
  5. Legacy.
  6. Corrupted (with black gems).
  7. Community.

And even the Dota 2 treasury does not have items of this quality. Wiki claims that such artifacts do not exist yet:

  1. Customized.
  2. Completed.
  3. Valve.
  4. Base.

From time to time, there is a new treasure in Dota. Valve is trying to release map updates, quests, and new chests with artifacts and sets every three months (for each season). Simultaneously with each update, an overview of the new Dota 2 treasure appears. Some of these chests may only be available to Dota Plus subscribers. It must be remembered that with each opening of the case, the chances of getting a valuable item from it increase.

You can use the simulator of Dota 2 treasures. Items here drop out with the same frequency as in the real game and are placed in the character’s inventory. They can be bought and sold. There are also simulator applications for the phone.

There are three treasures in Dota. One of them – Immortal Treasure I – contains items ranging from common to incredibly rare. The second numbered treasure is called Immortal Treasure II. It has 6 common items, one rare (Pyrexaec Forge), two very rare (Golden Awaleb’s Trundleweed), and one incredibly rare (Dipper the Destroyer set).

And Treasure 3, called Immortal Treasure III, contains new artifacts for Pugna, Clockwerk, Oracle, Treant Protector, Gyrocopter, and Lich. Besides, after unlocking it, the chances of getting 50 levels of the Battle Pass, the scarce gold version of the Pugna item, the ultra-rare Phoenix Wings, and even the Divine Emblem are increased.

If you reforge any 4 items from any “numbered” treasure in your arsenal, you can additionally get Immortal Treasure I and Rylai’s Warwheel.

Treasures are a great opportunity to get extra fun in addition to the gameplay itself. It is worth starting the hunt!
