In Dota 2, each hero has his role, and the latter is divided into two types – official and unofficial. Roamers are one of the unofficial classes. Patch 7.20 made roamers relevant again, increasing the gold from the stacks. This guide is dedicated to them.
Roamer Dota 2 is a character who is tasked with actively moving around the map to attack players from the enemy team and help teammates. Roamers include a lot of characters, those who enemies cannot quickly kill. It is not the responsibility of Roamer heroes to kill an opponent one-on-one. They only need to create a numerical advantage on the lane unexpectedly and, together with their allies, destroy the opponent’s characters. However, the roamer needs to have the ability to disable or stun the enemy, which makes it possible to finish him off quickly.
An experienced roamer plays a significant role in the victories of his team. Its benefits are often decisive. For example, when a roamer kills an enemy, he is given a tremendous experience, which allows him to advance in the level significantly. In contrast, a killed opponent will need to go back to the lane, spending time that could be used for farming.
In addition, he will force rivals to be careful. For them, the game up to the middle of the rink will be filled with tension due to the expectation of a sudden gank from the roamers. This will force the opponent to play, focusing mainly on defense rather than attack.
The Roamer hero has a rather complex role: he needs to quickly respond to the enemy’s actions, skillfully assess the current situation and accurately guess the moment for an attack. You also need to stop promptly and start farming (5-7 level) to keep up with the level. If the roamer’s attacks are successful, his teammates’ chances for a quick and confident victory will increase significantly.
Not every hero will be able to show himself well as a roamer. But, best of all, they act out in it:
Keeper of the Light;
Spirit Breaker;
Night Stalker;
Sand King;
Lion;
Techies;
Mirana;
Earthshaker;
Bounty Hunter.
Although the players themselves created the unofficial classes, they are pretty popular in the gaming environment and are regularly used by gamers. In addition to Roamer, these include:
Semi-Carry;
Hard-Carry;
Ganker;
Offlaner.
Roleplaying a roaming character requires some knowledge and training, and therefore beginners should not play this role.
