Artyom «fng» Barshak was born on September 24, 1995, in Belarus. A professional player in the discipline of DotA 2 began his career in 2012.
Artyom began his esportsman career with little-known non-professional teams. In 2012, together with DevilMice, he took part in the World Cyber Games 2012 tournament. The player’s team even went to China to participate in an event in which the team took third place. Then the player joined the iCCup team. During this time, Artyom very much began to improve his game and began to claim the title of the best player in the CIS. In May 2015, Artyom joined the Power Rangers team, and even though he played for Team Empire until the end of July, the player returned to Power Rangers again. Almost immediately, Artyom became the team captain and was even able to attract sponsors. The team showed average results at the end of 2013.
In 2014, Artyom continued to play for Power Rangers, and he even managed to win two tournaments, the Yard White Festival and the ESPL Season One. In August, Artyom transferred to Natus Vincere. In the new team, the player took the role of captain. But for several months, the team was not able to show the results that the organization expected from it. The team won only one tournament, the Dota 2 Champions League Season 4, and it was at this tournament that Artyom was confronted with the fact that the organization was firing him. After that, the player joined Virtus.pro Polar as a Stand-In, but in December 2014, he became part of the team. Artyom ’s transition breathed life into the team. In January, Virtus.pro Polar took second place in the Dota 2 League Season 5 and Star Ladder Star Series Season 11. After renaming the team in 2015 on ASUS.Polar, it was decided to close the project and transfer the squad to the Virtus.pro. Then Artyom won first place in a severe world-class tournament, ASUS ROG DreamLeague Season 3. This victory, together with the victories at the ASUS Play It Cool Dota 2 Invitational and Esportal Dota 2 League, helped the team get a direct invitation to The International 2015. The team won 5 -6 place. After that, the team’s results began to deteriorate rapidly.
In 2016, the team showed one of the worst indicators for its team. After a failure in the qualifications for The International 2016, the team was disbanded. In September, Artyom joined the Vega Squadron organization with which the player performed until the end of the year. In 2017, Artyom joined the Team Spirit team. If the beginning of the year was quite successful, with victories in OverPower Cup # 1 and WellPlay Invitational # 7 tournaments, then the team’s game went into decline. Artyom played for Team Spirit until the end of 2018. Team results for this period of time were not bad. There were ups and downs.
In January 2019, the player joined the Gambit organization. The team began the year with a victory at the WePlay tournament! Dota 2 Winter Madness and second place at The Bucharest Minor. In February, the team also won WePlay! Dota 2 Valentine Madness and took second place at ESL One Katowice 2019. After which the team’s game began to deteriorate noticeably. The team could not qualify for The International 2019. But the team did some work on mistakes, changed the composition, and began to show good results. The team took second place at ESL One Hamburg 2019 and third at ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore.
2020 started quite well for the team. The collective ranked fourth on WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020 and WePlay! Dota 2 Tug of War: Mad Moon, as well as the third on StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3. In May, Artyom joined The Alliance on loan. And already in September, he became a player in the organization officially. During the Alliance game, the player with the team took second place at ESL One Birmingham 2020 – Online: Europe & CIS and at the OGA Dota PIT S2: Europe / CIS tournament. In December 2020, the team wins the EPIC League Division 2 tournament.
Due to the pandemic, 2021 was not a very busy year for the player and his team. At the beginning of the year, Artyom and his team took 2nd place at the DreamLeague Season 14 DPC EU Upper Division tournament. And already in May, the «fng’s» team won the DreamLeague Season 15 DPC Western Europe Upper Division tournament. According to the number of points earned in the DPC league, the player with the team received a direct invitation to the main tournament of the year – The International. Unfortunately, the team quickly left it, taking only 9-12 place. After that, Artem took a short break, but the player left the Alliance team as it became known later. In November, «fng» has already started playing for the CIS team CIS Rejects, with which he won the DPC EEU 2021/22 Tour 1: Open Qualifier # 1, which will allow the team to take part in the DPC league.
