Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in recent updates supports a large selection of settings, which becomes wider over time. Correct configuration allows for more enjoyment and efficiency gains through the use of hardware resources and player skills. Therefore, many are interested in the settings of CS:GO Pro players who regularly win at major tournaments.
Professional players of well-known teams use very similar parameters, to which they were simultaneously led by significant experience. If we talk about the bulk of the config about the players, they are united by several such features:
Low resolution. Professional gamers enable reduced parameters in the game. A typical pro player config is 1024 x 768.
High frame rate. Along with lowering the resolution, professional players crank up the frame rate as much as possible.
Custom sight. For ease of aiming, the pros set individual crosshair settings.
In addition to properly setting the graphics of CS: GO, the peripherals’ quality is significantly affected by the pro players. Most use mechanical keyboards with crisp responses, responsive mice, and monitors based on high-speed TN matrices with minimal response times.
You can change the game configuration and set the settings for CS GO players in different ways. The following launch options are available:
in the game settings menu;
changing startup parameters on Steam;
in the console;
ready config.
The standard game menu allows you to change most of the parameters for yourself. For example, set the graphics settings for CS: GO Pro players. Entering through the launch parameters is convenient because, in this way, you can enable options that are not in the graphical menu or which are difficult to access. To register these parameters, you need:
Open Steam.
Select CS GO in the list of games and click on it with RMB.
Open “Properties” and find “Set launch options” there.
In the provided field, enter text commands that will be automatically applied when the game is opened.
Save settings and run CS GO.
In the game itself, you can prescribe the pros’ parameters, such as the shape of the crosshair, through the console. If you need to use ready-made configs about CS GO players, you must:
Unzip the downloaded .cfg file to the configs folder.
Start the game and open the console.
Create the exec XXX.cfg command, where XXX is the name of the loaded config file. This name must be in English letters and not have spaces.
Using the configs about CS: GO players, you can quickly switch between game parameters, the shape of the sight, and other features. To do this, just download the files with the selected pros’ configurations, sign each of them with the name of the gamer who created it, and apply the configs through the console.
Now let’s look at the settings of the five top world-class players, and, using their example, we will analyze what parameters the leading esports players play with.
Alexander Kostylev, who plays under the nickname “s1mple” in NaVi, uses the following settings: resolution 800 x 600, frequency 240 Hz.
Crosshair:
Vitality team member Mathieu Herbaut under the nickname “ZywOo” plays with the following parameters: resolution 1280 x 960, monitor frequency 240 Hz.
Crosshair №1:
Crosshair №2:
Nikola Kovac, known as “NiKo”, who plays for FaZe, plays with the following parameters: a resolution of 1024 x 768, a monitor frequency of 240 Hz.
Crosshair:
Nikolay Ridts from Astralis, better known as “Device”, uses the following parameters: resolution 1024 x 768, monitor frequency 240 Hz.
Crosshair:
Benjamin Bremer, or blameF, from the Complexity team, uses the following CS: GO parameters: 1280 x 960 resolution, 240 Hz monitor frequency.
Crosshair:
As you can see, the configs about CS GO players are mostly the same. They use low resolution while playing with compact cross-sights. Neither large crosshairs nor relatively new T-shaped pillars have taken root among them. Unless ropz plays in Full HD, but basically everyone chooses a lower resolution. But the number one in the current ratings, “s1mple”, limited to WVGA.
There are several reasons why configs for gamers usually have minimal settings. First, the reduced resolution ensures that there are no performance lags. Secondly, the absence of distracting visual effects allows you to better concentrate directly on the gameplay. Thirdly, this is a matter of habit for every gamer, many of whom started with CS 1.6.
You can use the configs of professional eSportsmen to train the game in competitive conditions (in which the pros also play). Like skins, customizations alone are not capable of providing a gaming advantage.
Which settings are the best for a player is impossible to say for sure. Only by trial and error you can choose the best config for yourself. To learn how to configure game parameters on your own, consider our guides on scopes and CS:GO commands.
