Ceb’s Toxicity is back in action

The last year’s incident with «Ceb» has not yet died down, but everything started all over again. For those who have forgotten, we remind you that last year the player of the OG team «Ceb» raged and insulted for a teammate in the matchmaking. The player of the team VP «Solo» drew attention to this incident and stated that he would not take part in the EPICENTER tournament until Valve made a certain set of rules of behavior for the players. Just recently, exactly the same situation happened again with the participation of «Ceb». This time, the OG player called his teammate «animal».

«You are wasting my time. It is expensive, unlike yours. You don’t even know what to pick, you stupid animal. You are 16th rank, but even my pet is smarter. I can teach him to pick in 10 minutes.»

This time «Ceb» did not speak out about the Russians, but overall its toxicity did not diminish. And as a media personality and two-time winner of The International, the player sets a bad example.

During the first incident, «Solo» and VP’s manager decided to find a common solution to this problem with Valve.

Solving the problem

«I prepared a big letter to Valve, where I described the situation in detail and suggested finding a solution. They were extremely unhappy with the ultimatum approach when Solo’s public actions forced them to somehow react. Valve replied that they are concerned about the situation and intend to discuss it in the framework of TI9.» said VP’s manager.

«At the meeting in Shanghai (as part of TI9) there were Eric Johnson, «Ceb», «Solo», and me. Eric bluntly stated that they were opposed to the code of conduct approach that was proposed. Instead, they plan to integrate a reporting system for such insults into the matchmaking interface. Besides, Valve was opposed to any further public comments on this topic.» said VP after the meeting at TI9.

At the end of 2019, the manager of VP Dvoryankin and «Solo» tried to raise this topic again, but to no avail. Valve, as always, started to say the same phrases, «we are working on this» and «we will continue to work in this direction.»

In total, the initiative was good, but it did not lead to anything, as the recent unpunished statement of «Ceb» shows.
