Qikert met Counter-Strike at the age of five thanks to his brother, with whom he visited computer clubs to play Half-Life, CS 1.6 and Stalker. When they bought him a computer, Alexey, in his own words, began to play almost non-stop. His first professional team in 2017 was the Avangar team, where he moved from the little-known LoG mix along with the rest of its members. The signing of the player took place shortly after the mix five won the Stream.me Gauntlet – CIS vs EU # 8. Thus, at the age of 17, Alexey became a pro gamer.
Under the banner of his new team, Qikert triumphed at the CIS Minor Championship – Boston 2018 and won the Bucharest Gaming Week Invitational and MSI Gaming Arena 2018. In addition, the team won the DreamHack Open Rio de Janeiro 2019, BLAST Pro Series: Moscow 2019 and CIS Minor Championship – Katowice 2019. Such successes did not go unnoticed: in December of the same year, all five gamers were signed by the Virtus.pro team.
In 2020, the VP team won at DreamHack Open December 2020 and Flashpoint Season 2. And at IEM Katowice 2021, the club finished second. For Qikert, Virtus.pro is the current team.
This is a standard Qikert’s config setting. Even though, like any pro gamer, Alexei often experiments with settings, but in important games, he uses such a configuration. To use it, you first need to download CS:GO in your Steam account.
The launch parameters for CS:GO are as follows:
-noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -noforcemspd -console -novid -tickrate 128 -freq 240
These commands need to be pasted into the console.
As you can see from the video of the matches, for Qikert, CS:GO is not just a game. He lives with Counter-Strike. Moreover, he has an undeniable talent. All this gives him an exceptional drive and courage, allowing him to play every important match like the last time.
Even despite a relatively short career span, the number of hours devoted to the shooter by Alexei probably reaches several thousand. Unfortunately, the exact figure is unknown due to the strict privacy settings in Steam’s player profile.
For Qikert, CS:GO is still the essential thing in his life. Therefore, he trains a lot to stay in good competitive shape: an average of 8-10 hours. His favourite training maps are Aim Botz, Training_aim_csgo2, and FAST AIM / REFLEX MAP.
During his relatively short but bright career, Alexey has so far played for only three teams:
For Qikert, CS:GO has become an excellent opportunity to improve the finances of his family. The very first own winnings, which amounted to 65 thousand tenges, he ultimately gave to his parents. In general, salaries in the industry, he said, can reach several thousand dollars. The total amount of prize money won by the player was about $ 367,546.
The life of Qikert changed beyond recognition: he was forced to leave school and concentrate entirely on his career. But his parents do not interfere with such a course of affairs since Alexey has already proved that e-sports can provide excellent earnings with the proper talent level. Although now, due to quarantine, he practically does not go anywhere. Before the pandemic, Alexey travelled the whole world, having visited the USA, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Turkey and other countries. At home, the pro gamer mainly enjoys playing CS:GO.
Thanks to his brother, at the age of five, they went to famous computer clubs together to play Half-Life or CS 1.6. When he got his first home PC, Alexey began to play almost non-stop.
According to him, it happened by accident. However, since he often practiced in CS:GO, he became so good at playing that his opponents in computer clubs often suspected him of being a cheater. Thanks to such rumours, information about the “cheater” reached the representatives of Avangar, who invited the gamer to him.
As he confessed from an interview, after starting his esports career, he began to earn good money (up to several thousand dollars a month) and travel a lot. And all this is because he is just playing his favourite game.
